Discipline Plan
I believe that life-long success depends on self-discipline. I have developed a classroom discipline plan that affords every student the opportunity to manage their own behavior and rewards. This plan is based on a color system. On a chart each child will have their own magnet. Every day begins with the all children on green. If a child misbehaves they will move their magnet down to yellow, then red and lastly blue. If they exceed my expectations they have the opportunity to move their magnet up to purple. The colors represent the following:
PURPLE: Exceeded Expectations
GREEN: Super Student
YELLOW: Warning
RED: Loss of Recess
BLUE: Contact Parents and Principal
A child will move their magnet for negative behavior. The purpose of this is to make the child more aware of their behavior.
At the end of each day the children will record their color in their agenda. Please check their agenda nightly. Please initial their agenda every weekend to show that you have looked over their behavior for the week. Please discuss any negative behavior as well as reward positive behavior. Every Monday I will check for a parent signature and your child will earn a “penny” for each day that they were green. An additional penny can be earned for being on purple. The money they earn can then be used to buy candy, prizes and rewards. The prices will range from 10 cents to 50 cents. Each child will be responsible for keeping track of their own money, and buying rewards when they have earned enough to spend! This is also a great way to reinforce the skill of counting coins. Please encourage positive, respectful and kind behavior daily. Thanks!
